Even though it has just aired in 2023, this drama immediately stole the attention of many people and left a deep impression. In fact, after some time, the story still feels very relevant to talk about, especially with all the emotions and messages presented.

The drama The Good Bad Mother is known to be directed by director Sim Na-Yeon and written by Bae Se-Young, and starring actress Ra Mi-Ran and actor Lee Do-Hyun

The drama tells the story of a single mother named Young Soon, and her son Kang-Ho, who live in poverty in a village after the mysterious death of her husband. Young Soon tries hard to be a “good mother” to her son, Kang-Ho, although sometimes she is too strict or harsh in educating her, this is done because Young Soon does not want her child to have the same difficulties as herself. Kang-Ho , who grew up feeling hurt by his mother’s harsh treatment, ends up trapped in a life full of conflict, until an accident changes everything. After the accident, Kang Ho loses his memory and makes him act like a child.

What makes *The Good Bad Mother* so interesting and touching is that this drama tells about how the feelings, struggles, and sacrifices of a single mother to raise her child. Sometimes being a good mother doesn’t always mean taking the easy way or being free from mistakes. Young Soon, though full of love, has to make a tough decision for the sake of her child’s future, even if it means appearing unfair or harsh in Kang-Ho’s eyes.

In addition, this drama also contains plot twists in each episode, and has beautiful visuals and very cool acting skills of the cast.

With so many Korean dramas focusing on romantic stories, I feel that “The Good Bad Mother” is closer to real life. Even though the story is moving, there are still light moments that make the audience smile.

Reference: https://www.sonora.id/read/423812252/review-the-good-bad-mother-series-atau-drakor-yang-indah-banget?page=3

Written by: Aura Ahyaya Dahayu Putranto (Psychology’22)

Edited by: Naira Afza Salsabilla (Nutritional Science’23)

Source: https://mydramalist.com/733003-bad-mother “Hi, K-drama lovers!
