Monday, after the first course in the morning was finished. Tavian Arya, a 3rd semester music student, walked down the hallway of the second floor classroom, then he went down the stairs, until he passed a wall magazine of the Faculty of Arts. The man with a taste for 2000s music usually looks at the wall magazine, just to appreciate the efforts of the people who fill the wall or just to find out if the content compared to last week remains the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, today there was something different. An article about the band Oasis and their popular song Don’t Look Back In Anger, one of Tavian’s favorite bands and songs. He read the article for a long time, a little excited because at least there was something new in the wall magazine. Tavian, or Tian as he’s affectionately known, took a photo of the article and posted it in the band’s group chat, just to share his amazement with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that Tian left the first floor hallway, what he didn’t know was that there was someone staring at him from across the hall, her expression was flat but you could guess her heart was happy to see Tian across there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMaybe tomorrow, I should write more about his favorite bands,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days later, in the Band Club practice room, Tian and his friends were preparing their respective musical instruments. Although he was the vocalist and composer, Tian could play guitar, so he set the tone from his guitar. One of his friends, Raka, deliberately turned on the 19.99 FM radio belonging to Radio Club on campus. The sound of the radio was enough to enliven the rehearsal room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until finally the radio broadcaster played a song that was foreign but familiar to Tian and his friends. The song that Tian made himself when he was in high school, the song that Tian uploaded on SoundCloud, not many people know about it. Tian stopped his guitar toning activities, listening carefully to the song that was playing, making sure that he didn’t hear wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Your song, right? The one we sang at the after party? After you were rejected by Rumi,” said Satria, Tian’s bandmate since high school. Tian thought for a moment, everything was too odd. The campus radio, playing the song Tears For You made for Rumi, the girl he had a crush on back in high school, the song he thought would forever be buried in his old SoundCloud account, and the biggest question was, who played that song?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day Tian passed through the same hallway when he saw the article about Oasis on the wall magazine, this time he stopped again to check if there was an interesting new article. His curiosity was answered when his gaze met with an article titled “SoundCloud: Forum for Unknown Musicians to Show Their Work”, Tian immediately focused on reading the article, until he realized that under the name of the article there was the name and major of the author of the article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raya Swaraya \/ Journalism ’24<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe the title of the article was ordinary, but when Tian read carefully. The author gives several SoundCloud accounts with extraordinary talent potential, one of which is the username Giant Mountain, Tian’s SoundCloud account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It didn’t take long, Tian knew that Raya Swaraya, a journalism major from class 2024, was the one who played his song on campus radio. He just needs to be more sure that the girl is indeed the one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Oasis song was requested by a freshman, Raya, Journalism 24,\u201d the answer from Tian’s friend who is the head of the campus Radio Club rounded off his determination. After the last lecture that afternoon, Tian went to the student press organization room, the place he believed Raya to be there, he\u2019s waiting across the room, waiting for the figure he was looking for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A girl came out with a beige jacket, a purple backpack with a lot of keychain, and a camera bag that she carried. Tian was sure it was Raya he was looking for, judging by the name tag on the camera bag that read \u2018Raya S.\u2019. Their gazes briefly met before Raya pretended not to recognize the man in the dark suit she’d had a crush on since high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRaya…\u201d Tian called hesitantly, for some reason his determination just melted away. The one called turned his head, only silent, giving a questioning look. Tian moved forward slightly, breathing slowly, gathering his intentions again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy song on campus radio, that’s…you, right?\u201d Raya paused, then nodded casually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOasis in the wall article, that’s you?\u201d Tian waited for Raya’s nod, as he wanted to ask the next thing, “‘SoundCloud: Unknown Musicians Forum Shows Their Work’ that’s me too,” the girl in front of him had already opened the card first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tian was silent, his mind was frantic, it was not that easy to talk about feelings. The atmosphere was silent for a few seconds until Raya opened her voice, \u201cI just want to know, if I’m bolder than before, will you see me?\u201d Tian was shocked. Didn’t expect that sentence to come from someone who he had only glimpsed. But now, and maybe so on, everything between Tian and Raya feels different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
