One day, the students at the academy started talking about an old legend that was circulating. It is said that every night there is the ghost of a princess who disappeared many years ago. This ghost always appeared in the northern corridor of the academy, wearing a long red dress and emitting a soft, eerie whistling sound.

“Is there really a ghost here?” ask Princess Cerises, feeling curious.

“I don’t know, but I think we should find out,” answered Princess Fraises bravely.

“You’re crazy, aren’t you? I’m scared,” answered Princess Myrtilles, feeling scared.

“Don’t worry, let’s go there together,” answered Princess Maple convincingly.

“Yes, that’s right, Mel. Besides, you don’t feel sorry for the female students here who are afraid they won’t be able to sleep because of that story,” answered Princess Fraises, helping to convince her.

“Okay, I’ll come along,” replied Princess Myrtilles, still feeling a little scared.

They decided to investigate the legend that very night. After nightfall, the five princesses walked together to the northern corridor, where the ghost was said to appear. The corridor was dark and quiet, lit only by the moonlight coming in through the tall windows.

As they got deeper, they began to hear a soft, soothing whistling sound, as told in legends. Princess Maple confirmed, “That must be the whistling sound of a ghost!”

Suddenly, they saw a red figure appear at the end of the corridor. The figure moved slowly, wearing a long red dress and flowing hair. Princess Myrtilles was shocked and frightened. “It must be a ghost!” exclaimed Princess Myrtilles with fear

However, as the figure got closer, they saw something surprising—it was… Princess Poire, who walks with his eyes closed. Apparently, Poire was sleepwalking, and the whistle came from his sleeping mouth.

“What happened? Why are you all here?” ask Princess Poire, woke up confused.

“Poire, you scared us! Turns out, it wasn’t a ghost, but you were sleepwalking!” answer the Princesses, while laughing with relief.

Princess Poire feels embarrassed. “Oh, I’m sorry. I often sleepwalk, so I don’t know what happened.”

The five princesses laughed together, relieved that there were no ghosts. “We have to be more careful next time,” said Princess Maple, smile.

They returned to their respective rooms, realizing that the scary ghost legend was just an ordinary thing that could be explained. And even though Princess Poire sometimes sleepwalking, they knew that with their friendship, there was nothing to fear.
