Festive Opening of the 48th Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Muktamar Takes Place at Manahan Stadium
Ceremonial activities for the 48th Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Muktamar held on 18 – 20 November, 2022. The series of activities include Mangayubagyo Night, Opening Session of the Muktamar, Tanwir & Muhammadiyah Conference, Tanwir & Aisyiyah Conference, Muktamar Fair & MITE (Muhammadiyah Innovation & Technology Expo), and Expo Aisyiyah. On the evening of November 18, 2022 the Mangayubagyo Night was held, while the Opening of the Muktamar was held the following day, November 19, 2022 at Manahan Stadium, Solo. The event started at 08.00 WIB, but penggembira had already packed the area at 05.00-07.30 WIB since the gate was opened.
Quoting setkab.go.id, the event was attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla along with Mrs. Mufidah Kalla, and several national figures such as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Chairman of the Republic of Indonesia DPR Puan Maharani, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Yenny Wahid, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Solo Deputy Mayor Teguh Prakosa.
Launch Republika, as many as 3,700 talents presented various kinds of artistic attractions such as marching bands, dances, choirs, and pencak silat entertained Muhammadiyah members at the opening of the 48th Muktamar Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah. The Muktamar Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah events were officially opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo.
The President of the Republic of Indonesia expressed his joy at being able to stay in touch with the participants of the 48th Muktamar Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah. “I am very grateful, I am happy, and feel very honored to be able to attend the Muktamar Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah Muktamar this morning. Alhamdulillah, Mrs. Iriana and I were able to meet in person with all of you,” said Joko Widodo.
The President reminded all parties that the global challenges were still not over. “The pandemic is not completely over, new problems have emerged. The war in Ukraine has damaged global supply chains, so that food prices have risen, fuel and electricity prices have also increased sharply in all countries in the world. With the support of the big Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah families, Indonesia can be a bright spot in the midst of a bleak world. Indonesia is like the sun that illuminates the world. May Allah SWT, the Most Merciful God, bless the Indonesian people,” added him.
