Muktamar Fair and MITE at De’ Tjolomadoe on Muktamar 48 series

Karanganyar (21/11), Muktamar Muhammadiyah is the supreme congress event of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah association which is held every 5 years. Since Muhammadiyah established at 1912 until now, total Muktamar has been held 48 times. This year, Muktamar has been held in Solo city on Friday (18/11) until Sunday (20/11) with UMS as the as the host of 48^th Muktamar Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah.

In the splendor of 48^th Muktamar Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah series, Muhammadiyah held UMKM (Small and Medium Enterprise) expo that titled as Muktamar Fair, MITE (Muhammadiyah Innovation and Technology Expo) and Virtual Expo Muktamar. This event held in 5 days from Thursday (17/11) until Monday (21/11).

Muktamar Fair intended to escalate the economics and national UMKM generally. Otherwise, MITE aimed to publishing innovations and technologies that developed by various University nor School of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah around Indonesia. This is conducted to make people can be discovered the growth of technology, duplicate, mass producting the product that exhibited and can be useful for anyone. Committee of this event also provide the Virtual Expo Muktamar by using app for anyone who can’t attend this event in-place.

De’ Tjolomadoe that is placed in the area of Karanganyar Regency is selected as the venue because it is meets the space requirements of the committee. Beside that, this place also selected in case of antisipating the disruption of congress main activities at Edutorium UMS. In fact, this venue is 3 kilometers away from Edutorium. With mid-far distance, Muhammadiyah provides a free shuttle in the form of 10 minibuses that help the transportation from Edutorium to De’ Tjolomadoe.

Meet at the venue, Zainnudin Ahpandi the Coordinator of this event explained that the usage of De Tjolomadoe arena is being leased for 5 days of main event with 3 days of equipments loading and 2 days of equipment removal. This thing is following the regulation of De Tjolomadu management that now is managed by BUMN (state-owned corporation).

All kinds of Muktamar Fair nor MITE stands enrollment done by online methods, from registration, payments, and technical meetings all of them is via online system. This system quite different than another bazaar events in past years. For stand placements, Muktamar Fair divided by 8 clusters that consist of Association (Organization), Education, Medical, Processed Foods/Gifts, F&B, Playground, Merchandise and Fashion which has total 512 stands that filled by UMKM from various region in Indonesia generally. Meanwhile, for MITE is limited for 99 stands of participants that selected by curator team considering the limited space inside De Tjolomadoe museum building. Payment for MITE stands also different than Muktamar Fair that the participant only needs to pay if they were accepted by curator team.

Zai is explained that all of tenants or stands inside the venue are registered by committee as the responsible. It is known that in Adi Sucipto Road especially in front of the venue can be found some stands that sells various thing, Zai said that it is not the committee responsible as the organizer of this event but the local government responsible. Because of that, committee of this event will be controlling hawkers who holding illegal stalls inside the venue.

Peoples are enthusiastic for visiting MITE nor Muktamar Fair. “Visitor for last 2 days (Saturday and Sunday) is incredibly full. For detecting the numbers of visitors, we were only using click-counter at MITE enterance which is using one-gate system. For Muktamar Fair we cannot detect how many visitors, but for MITE it’s approaching 500.0000 visitors in 2 days that can be concluded around 1 million people visiting MITE in 5 days.”, said Zai.

For sponsorship, on this Muktamar Fair nor MITE still in the one door inside 48^th Muktamar Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah series through Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah. According to Zai, income from selling stands it’s enough for helding this event because of cost suppression within available budget.

In this year, Muktamar Fair and MITE also presenting various shows. That shows always full from morning until night daily. The shows are Metronom Band, Nada dan Dakwah, Rebana Modern, Tabligh Akbar, Koes Plus-an, jazz music, Wayang Kulit Kontemporer, Sendratari, Talkshow and Ortom dialogue. Beside that, there is also some festival that held such as Colosal Drama festival, Da’I Cilik Festival and Student Music Festival. It’s all accomodated by holding this event.

Special protection in this event is prepared for anticipating the huge number of visitors. This event is being protected by Army and Police with extra protection from KOKAM (Komando Kesiapsiagaan Angkatan Muda Muhammadiyah) and SapaMu (Satuan Pengamanan Muktamar) that also provided as extra protection in Muktamar 48 Series. Beside that protection, there is also external protection from participant nor local residents in 24 Hours that hand in hand to make this event runs smoothly.

Cleanliness of venue is the responsibility of any people include committee, participant, management of De Tjolomadoe and also Visitors of this event. But committee also prepared booth for cleaning voulunteers not far from information booth that supported by cleaning team of De Tjolomadoe. Beside that, committee are also checking up for the cleanliness of the venue every night to helpthe sterilizations of venue from trashes.

All of series of this expo is closed with Closing Ceremony on Monday (21/11) that started around 03.30 P.M. local time and also attended by Minister of Trade of Republic Indonesia (MENDAGRI) Dr. (H.C.) H. Zulkifli Hasan, S.E., M.M or also known as Zulhas. The event started with recitation of Al-Qur’an and then sang the song “Indonesia Raya” followed by “Sang Surya” afterwards. There is also award announcement for the winner of 3 festivals that has been held in this event. Trophy and awards are also given to the winner by Zulhas. And then, the event continued with shows by Koes Plus-an, Metronome

band featuring Fuad Lord Symfoni and University of Ahmad Dahlan jazz music band.

Muktamar Fair, MITE and Virtual Expo Muktamar on this year generally running well and relatively smooth. This is based on testimonials from some vendors who express that the event is success to the committee. Zainnudin Alphandi added that this event is nicely organized for now. “My hope, in the future Muktamar or non-Muktamar this kind of events can be routine agenda. Because, something like this is important that can be entertaining and has a lot of benefit for Association (Muhammadiyah) people nor people in general.”
