Jalan Yang Jauh Jangan Lupa Pulang is a film based on the novel by Marchella FP which presents problems in the family. This film is a sequel to the film Nanti Kita Tell About Hari Ini, which was released in 2020. The film, which was released on February 2, 2023, takes the point of view of the character Aurora (Sheila Dara), who appeared in the film Nanti Kita Cerita tentang Hari Ini. Tells about Aurora who continues her education in London. Aurora is trying to find her identity and escape from the shadowy family. However, Aurora’s life is not without problems, which once again makes Aurora faced with a difficult decision. This film also tells a deeper story about Aurora’s brotherly relationship with her older brother, Angkasa (Rio Dewanto) and her younger sister, Awan (Rachel Amanda).

The actors in this film play their roles well and are quite successful in conveying emotions to the audience. Aurora, played by Sheila Dara, is quite good at playing the role of a second child. Honey and Kit, played by Lutesha Sadhewa and Jerome Kurnia, also played beautifully as Aurora’s friends in London. Jem, played by Gaindra Bimo, is also quite good at playing the boyfriend of Aurora who has a bad guy character. Rio Dewanto and Rachel Amanda who play the roles of brother and sister Aurora are also good at playing these characters.

The drawback of this film, in my opinion, is that sometimes the plot is erratic or jumps can be confusing. Several other new characters that appear in this film should be explored more deeply, Honey, who is trying to survive her love trauma, Kit with her heritage crisis, and Jem’s character who is portrayed as a bad guy, making their roles only present to give color to Aurora. Even so, the action of each casting character may be regarded as looking good.

Through this film, we can raise awareness that every child, be it the first, second, or third child, must have their own problems and we know that we only need to understand one another. With this film, we also realized that it’s fine if we don’t feel good, it’s better for us to express these emotions instead of keeping them to ourselves. As far as we are concerned, there must be a ‘home’ where we can come back.
