In this period, UMS graduated 2,339 students from undergraduate and postgraduate programs. In its implementation, the graduation was held for two days, on March 18 and 19, 2023.
On the first day, Vice Chancellor I, UMS Prof., Dr., Harun Joko Prayitno, M.Hum said that the graduation in this period, as many as 1,054 or equivalent to 45% of UMS students graduated cum laude. He also mentioned that one of the students from the postgraduate program named Eko Purnomo graduated with a perfect GPA of 4.00.
UMS Chancellor Prof., Dr., Sofyan Anif, M.Si asked UMS graduates not to be satisfied and feel proud of the knowledge they have gained, but must continue to develop in order to achieve success.
“Must do good anywhere regardless of profession like Muhammadiyah founder Kiai Ahmad Dahlan. Humans were created by Allah as Caliphs (Leaders), as representatives of Allah on earth to manage all of nature with the ability of knowledge they have, “he said.
The activity which was held on Saturday (18/03) went smoothly. Even though sometimes the weather is a little hot, the situation in the field is monitored safely. In this emotional and happy moment, many graduates and graduates were accompanied by close friends and extended family, one of them was Septia tri amalia Graduate and Anggara Graduate, both of whom had successfully graduated cum laude with a GPA of 3.81 and 3.50.

“I’m happy of course because I’ve graduated, I’m also touched when I remember the struggle of parents who have gone so far to pay for college until their children can graduate, but I’m also sad because I will definitely be separated from my friends from the first semester. Our message to our friends so that they can graduate on time is that one of them is smart in choosing friends. Because friends can really affect us, if for example we have friends who are ambitious even though we are not really ambitious, we will definitely be carried away even a little, and that really affects our own enthusiasm for learning”.
In addition, the Chancellor of UMS also advised the graduates and graduates to become proud alumni and instill Muhammadiyah values that have been obtained so far, one of which is always doing good.
