The commemoration of June 26 as the world International Anti-Narcotics Day should be a reminder to all people in any part of the world to stay away from dangerous things called “Drugs”. Narkoba is an abbreviation of Narcotics and drugs made from hazardous materials. Apart from narcotics, another term specifically introduced by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia is NAPZA which stands for Narcotics, psychotropic and other Addictive Substances. All of these terms refer to a group of substances or ingredients that generally have a risk, namely addiction. In addition to causing harmful physical effects, drugs can also cause psychological and mental disorders. Disorders that can be caused by drugs are usually in the form of anxiety, anxiety, fear, suspicion, excessive alertness, paranoia, panic, disorientation, confusion, phobias, fatigue, depression, visual hallucinations, Europhobia and aggression. Other disturbances caused are also in the form of memory disorders, reasoning disorders, concentration problems, weakening of sexual drive barriers, talkativeness, impaired awareness, cognitive disorders, affective disorders, perceptual and behavioral disorders.

Those who are already addicted will find it difficult to break away from dependence. Drug addicts also do not rule out doing anything as long as their need for drugs can be met. Therefore, today’s young generation really needs a mental revolution to stay away from these things. The mentality of the younger generation who has become addicts must be changed so they can leave drugs. Mental revolution is an effort to ward off the bad influence caused by drugs. However, mental revolution efforts carried out with religious values are not necessarily effective in changing the mental attitude of the perpetrators. Therefore, other reinforcements such as the Qur’an are needed to help understand it.

The role of religion in these circumstances is absolutely necessary. Bringing victims closer to religious teachings and increasing the victim’s faith and piety to God Almighty is the parts that contribute to determining the success of the victim in being able to return to society and stand on his own. In addition, as technology develops, socialization of drugs can also be done through social media, as life in this sophisticated modern era makes everything feel easier to do. Only armed with technology, almost anything can be obtained, including narcotics and illegal drugs whose distribution is increasingly covert and vulnerable to teenagers.

The high rate of drug abuse in adolescents is increasingly worrying parents. The reason is, the dangers of drugs are a very real threat. Drugs will damage the social dimension and the morality of the younger generation. Drugs that enter the human body will affect the brain/central nervous system, causing physical, psychological and social functioning disorders due to dependence on these substances. Even though adolescence is a period of searching for identity in which they will tend to be curious about various things, try to follow trends and lifestyles, and have great fun, even though all of these tendencies are normal, it can also make it easier for teenagers to motivated to use drugs. The development of a person in childhood and adolescence will shape the development of that person in adulthood, because that is when the childhood and youth are damaged by drugs, then their future is bleak or even destroyed.

Every drug addict at any time needs narcotics as part of his life needs, the dose of which tends to always increase. Drug use outside of medical indications, without a doctor’s instructions or prescription can cause obstacles in activities at home, school or college, workplace and social environment. Drug dependence is caused by substance abuse accompanied by substance tolerance (higher doses) and symptoms of despair, which have the characteristics of an irresistible desire, a tendency to increase the dose (dose), physical and psychological dependence. Using Narcotics and strong drugs without strict control and supervision, and contrary to applicable laws and regulations is a crime, because it is very harmful and a great danger to human life, society and the nation. Therefore, Drug Prevention and Control are efforts that must be carried out by the Government and the wider community, in order to fully realize Indonesian human resources, especially in the field of medicine and health services.
