Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA) 2023 is an international art performance featuring dancers, musicians, and theatre performers from within and outside the country. The art performance is held at Fort Vastenburg, Solo, Central Java. This year, SIPA was attended by seven delegations from a number of countries, namely Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Lithuania, Singapore, and Taiwan. With a total of 291 artists and officials.

SIPA 2023 runs for 3 days which opened from Thursday 31 August to 2 September 20203. It was opened with a fireworks display that amazed visitors, and then continued with the first performance by the SIPA 2023 mascot, Wirastuti Susilaningtyas, in collaboration with Semarak Candrakirana Art Centre. However, on the last day of the SIPA 2023 show, Saturday (2/9/2023) the atmosphere of Fort Vesternburg was also festive.

The excitement of this event was enough to make a deep impression on the committee and visitors who came. As expressed by Teria as the organising committee in the Among Tamu section, she also felt as a committee member that she was happy with the running of this event.

“As the point of view of the committee, I feel very happy and feel extraordinary, especially even though the event is in Solo, which is not the capital city of Indonesia, but this event is an international event. There are many international performances that we can see and interact with directly,” said Teria Yunita as the organising committee in the Among Tamu (Guest relation) Division.

Visitors who come also get memorable experiences and art performances with the running of this event until the last day of SIPA 2023. One of the visitors to SIPA, Herlambang said that he was very enthusiastic about the SIPA 2023 Event held in Solo.

“I am very excited because after last year’s obstruction due to covid, and in 2023 Solo City began to open many events, one of which is this SIPA. I am interested in this event because it is an international class event and is held in Solo. All arts are covered by dance, music, or theatre. Even the culinary is interesting,” said Herlambang, a visitor at SIPA 2023.

In addition to the art performances on the Main Stage, this event was also enlivened by the SIPA Urban Market, which is several exhibitions from communities in Solo and MSME bazaars. Herlambang also said that the Urban Market is one of the attractions of this event.

“What is interesting in my opinion is the structure of the event, before watching the performance, we have been treated to several souvenirs that are local products and domestic products of course,” said Herlambang as a visitor.

Arts events like SIPA (Solo Performing Arts) 2023 certainly try their best to present different performances from year to year. Teria mentioned that this year SIPA presents many new and different performances from last year. And coupled with the presence of several important figures who participated in watching the art performance of this event. Such as Mr Gibran as the mayor of Solo during the opening ceremony of this SIPA event, and also the presence of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs Puan Maharani who also gave her Closing Statement at the closing ceremony of SIPA 2023.

It is undeniable that difficulties are very likely to occur in the course of an event, the difficulty during the event is to manage the large number of visitors, especially the general public, so that it must be able to manage how to make the place fit what has been provided and placed.

This event went quite smoothly also with the enthusiasm of visitors who increased at the peak of the event as well as at the end of the event which was enlivened by the fireworks display.

Both the committee and the visitors gave their hopes for the SIPA event next year, they hope that in the future SIPA will be able to become a more lively event than this year.

“In the future, for SIPA itself, of course I hope SIPA will continue to exist, will continue to accompany friends of Solo, Solo Raya and also throughout Indonesia to attend every year in Solo and hopefully many other enthusiasts will also enliven SIPA in the coming years and for other cultural events,” said Teria Yunita as the Organising committee.

Herlambang, one of the visitors also expressed his hope for SIPA in the coming year and beyond to become an even bigger event.

“My hope is that next year it can be held, of course, and then it can be even more crowded in the future,” he said.
